A disguised nemesis

We had a close call in home security the other day. A very suspicious character came to the front door wearing a Santa hat. But I instantly noticed her telltale blue uniform and bag and deduced that she was my nemesis the mailwoman. (How did I leave her off my Enemies List??) Well, I let her know all about what I thought of her sneaky disguise. She won't try that again any time soon! Pretending to be Santa. Of all the low-down tricks.

I'm raising the Mail-person Threat Level to Red, indicating current and ongoing covert mail-person infiltration attempts.

Christmas Day

Christmas tree

Christmas dog (that's me!!!)

Gingerbread house. But why won't they let me help? I can take care of that whole house easily! At least give me the doghouse....

The roof is kind of suspect. I think we need to get a different architect next year. Griffin needs to stick to computers.

Yeah! I aced out Rusty for the prime petting spot.

Clarita: We're going to give Sydney a doggie bed for Christmas.
Damitra: Oh, I don't know, Mom, I don't think she'll like it.

I like this family's priorities:
Damitra: Mom, I hope you didn't spend too much on us.
Clarita (paraphrased): Oh, don't worry, honey. Sydney's present was more expensive than any of yours.

Of course I love my doggie bed! Now if only they would put my food dish next to it....

They seem to have a lot of leftover turkey. I hope they make a reasonable decision on how to dispose of it....

Christmas ribbon

I got a Christmas ribbon! Yay!

A very expensive treat

Sydney's on a blogging hiatus for a day or two. While we were out on Thursday, she got into some chocolate that we'd left in reach, tore open the bags, tore open almost all of the individually wrapped chocolates inside, and ate a total of 6 or 7 ounces of dark chocolate. (My Christmas stocking will be a bit thinner than Damitra planned.) We wound up taking her to the pet ER that evening because she was getting shaky and sick. They fixed her up and she's getting better, but she's very tired of being cooped up in the kitchen. I hope she really enjoyed that chocolate....

Rough!

Griffin: How's your new sweater?
Damitra: It's OK, but the inside of the pockets is a bit rough.
Griffin: Ruff?
(Sydney looks up excitedly)
Damitra: Not that kind of rough!

Birds and more

We took care of our friend's birds for a couple of days while she was away. They sure had a lot to say. And they were messy eaters. You won't catch me leaving any food on the floor!

I wasn't scared of them. Nope, not a bit. There was a good reason I stayed on the far side of the room and wouldn't look at them.

Hey, what's going on? Get me down from here! Oh no, not dancing time!

Woooooowwwwww ... look at all that food! Is it tastier than the last stuff? [No, it's the same kind -- Griffin]
