Critters

Last weekend was the first lawn-mowing of the year (more of a weed-mowing, to be precise). I noticed a pretty yellow flower mysteriously hanging in midair by one of the windows:


Or not. For scale, he's about the size of a fingertip, not big. Pretty impressive camouflage. My first thought was that it wouldn't work well for him to be in a midair web like that, but the very next day he'd already caught some food, so what do I know?

Then today I unpacked all the potted plants from their winter mulch and disturbed a lizard who had apparently found the dry leaves to be a nice home.
