Sydney is lying on the floor about three feet from me, facing outward, watching vigilantly.
Damitra: What is she guarding you from, anyhow?
Me: I don't know. But whatever it is, it's not here, so I guess she must be doing a good job....

Dude! Aliens are not invading the US. So my anti-alien efforts are clearly working perfectly.
Of course, it might be possible to regress the appearance of aliens on my alien efforts, simulating a latent variable of alien-ness in order to learn how effective my efforts are. but I haven't found anyone to share that data with me, yet.
